BATON ROUGE, La. – The LSU School of Music is partnering with the New Orleans Jazz Museum and Arts Council of Baton Rouge to present a multi-part concert series celebrating female contributions to jazz music, the LSU College of Music & Dramatic Arts announced this week.

Featured at the opening concert will be the first-ever LSU Women In Jazz Rising All-Star Combo, an all-female high school jazz combo comprised of students from various schools across Louisiana, who will perform alongside LSU jazz faculty and guest artists.

Renowned female jazz artists from Louisiana, Texas, and New York are joining the All-Star Combo and LSU faculty to perform on the concert series, including Kellin Hanas (trumpet), Autumn Dominguez (saxophone/vocals), Bailey Ehrgott (guitar), Yeeun Kim (piano), and Rose Cangelosi (multi-instrumental). These guest artists will also host masterclasses for LSU students, collaborate with LSU jazz ensembles, and visit schools across Louisiana to promote further participation in jazz music at K-12 levels.

In addition to the generous support of the New Orleans Jazz Museum and Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge, this event was further sponsored in part by the LSU Provost's Fund for Innovation in Research and a matching grant from the LSU College of Music & Dramatic Arts. The series is being spearheaded by Molly Redfield, Assistant Professor of Jazz Studies in the LSU School of Music.
