Dr. Richardson focuses on the philosophy that LSU Agriculture must serve the citizens of Louisiana in ways that improve their standard of living and educates future agricultural leaders. This means managing resources to make certain the AgCenter and College of Agriculture are relevant, responsible, and responsive.
In preparation for his leadership roles, Dr. Richardson served in several administrative leadership positions in the LSU System. He also filled national leadership roles in his professional organizations in vocational and agricultural education, and he assisted in the development of several LSU-based international projects. His travels abroad have taken him to Ukraine, Germany, the Federal States of Micronesia, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Jamaica, Honduras, England, Canada, Japan, and China. While teaching at Purdue University from 1972 to 1984, he was twice recognized as Outstanding Teacher and once as Outstanding Academic Advisor by Purdue’s Department of Education.
