A graduate of the School of Leadership and Human Resource Development, Dr. Hammett worked in administration at LSU for over twelve years before moving into the private sector. Dr. Hammett started his career at LSU in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and then moved to the College of Agriculture, where he served as the Director of Student Services for six years. It is during his tenure in the College of Agriculture that he earned his doctorate and began teaching courses as an adjunct professor in the School. Dr. Hammett’s dissertation focused on the engagement of students in Agricultural Residential College. Currently, as the Director of Training and Recruitment for a major industrial contractor, he has now changed his primary focus to the engagement of employees and the shortage of a skilled, trained workforce. In this effort, he is committed to the advancement and preparation of students at LSU and enjoys teaching leadership courses for the School during intersession semesters.
