SLHRD Associate Director Rizzuto Presents Research at Social Network Analysis Conference

Dr. Tracey Rizzuto, associate director of the School of Human Resource & Workforce Development (SLHRD) in the College of Human Sciences & Education (CHSE) presented research at the International Network for Social Network Analysis (INSNA) Sunbelt Conference in Newport Beach, Ca. on April 1, 2016.

Her talk, titled “Predicting the Emergence of Dark Criminal Leadership Using Network Centrality,” featured the research she conducted in conjunction with the Baton Rouge Area Violence Elimination (BRAVE) Program.

The research focuses on the applications of social network science in smart policing initiatives for monitoring gang networks and community violence reduction.

Dr. Rizzuto has taken an active role in research that benefits local and state interests, such as workplace disaster recovery through the Katrina Aid and Relief Effort (KARE), the Baton Rouge Choice Initiative, and smart policing and prosecution initiatives like BRAVE and the Crime Strategies Unit (CSU).
