LSU Child Development Laboratory Preschool students learn about physical activity

07/05/16

LSU School of Kinesiology Assistant Professor Dr. Kip Webster and Kinesiology doctoral students Kelly Simonton and Jackie Victoriano assisted with the LSU Child Development Laboratory Preschool’s two-week summer camp.

From May 23 to June 3, children enjoyed the "On the Move" camp, where they participated in fun, physical activities that encouraged them to use muscles and work with others.

The doctoral students set up an obstacle course on the LSU’s Parade Ground and encouraged children to engage in a variety of physical activities. The preschool children learned about body movements and various sports.

Enhanced fundamental motor skills are an important part of children being active and competent movers.
