Biography

Angela Barnes is currently the Director of LSU Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool, a Reggio Emilia inspired early learning program. She holds a B.S. degree in Early Childhood from Florida A&M University and a M.S. in Human Ecology from Louisiana State University. Previously, she served as the Education Manager of three Early Head Start Centers and was a Teacher Coach for the Early Childhood Network in East Baton Rouge Parish. She has vast experience and expertise related to working with young children and training early childhood education professionals. In addition to working in early childhood administration, Angela has experience teaching young children and teaching in a university setting. She understands the hard work and dedication required of early childhood professionals. She is a member of Southern Early Childhood Association, National Association for the Education of Young Children, and a committee member of the Knock Knock Children’s Museum.
