Dean’s Circle Request for Proposal

The Peabody Society Dean’s Circle provides support for faculty research, new programs, and outreach efforts.  Since its inception, the Dean’s Circle has invested more than $100,000 in a college endowment and allocated an additional $55,000 for several programs, including:

  • Bursting the Pipeline: Education, Social Work, and Law Perspectives on Ending the School-to-Prison Pipeline
  • Coastal Roots and Teaching in Chile
  • Recruiting graduate students from historically black colleges and universities

Expectations

Faculty awarded funding will be required to submit a mid-year status summary and final report to the Dean’s Circle.  Faculty may also be asked to make a brief presentation to the Peabody Society Dean’s Circle or CHSE faculty and staff detailing the impact of the funds on their project.

Timeline

Proposals must first be reviewed and approved by the faculty member’s School Director and the Dean.  Following approval from the Dean, the Office of Development and Alumni Relations must receive proposals by April 18, 2017 (electronic submissions to give2chse@lsu.edu are preferable). Notification of awards will be made after the Dean’s Circle May meeting.
