Louisiana Desktop Well Reference 2001 Central Gulf Region PTTC INSTALLATION NOTES 1. If the auto install feature doesn't activate then run the SETUP.EXE program located in the root directory of the CD. 2. Once the installation has started make sure to check the box in the DATA install window. The data must be installed onto a hard disk or the program will not function correctly. 3. If you are using Microsoft Windows 3.x and do not have the Win32s extensions added they will be installed during the setup process. However, Windows must be restarted for the LDWR program to function properly. 4. During installation in MS Windows 95/98/Me the xcopy32 procedures stop with a window that does not automatically close. Just click on the X in the upper right section of the window and the installation will proceed normally. 5. The program sets two directory environmental variables; TEMP and HOME. HOME defaults to [drive]:\LDWR and TEMP defaults to [drive]:\LWDR\DATA\TEMP. The TEMP directory is created as a work space for temporary files. 6. ESRI created Arcview Data Publisher v2.1 before Microsoft Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP were released. Some problems may be encountered using theses operating systems. It is recommended that the latest service packs be installed. However, the progam has been tested on clean installs of all version of Microsoft Windows without problems. 7. Minimum system requirements (SEE #5): 1 - Intel 80386 CPU or equivalent 2 - Microsoft Windows 3.1 in enhanced mode. 3 - 8 MB RAM 4 - 17 MB virtual memory 5 - 1.3 GB hard disk space for program storage wit 2 GB free for installation. 6 - 2x CD ROM drive 7 - Screen resolution of 800x600x256 colors and small fonts. A resolution of 640x480 will suffice but some buttons will be unavailable and large fonts may render some message boxes difficult to read. 8 - NOTE: Performance will be very poor with these minimums. Program load, queries, reports and charts will require several tens of minutes to complete. However, typical systems sold today are more than sufficient to run this application.
