COASTAL ECOLOGY INSTITUTE

MISSION STATEMENT

The Coastal Ecology Institute (CEI) is a research institute within the School of the Coast and Environment (SC&E), with academic affiliation through the Department of Oceanography and Coastal Sciences (DOCS). The Institute's mission is to provide university-based leadership and scientific expertise in finding solutions to environmental problems affecting coastal and marine environments. The CEI faculty and research associates provide rigorous academic training for students, conduct workshops, publish in high-quality scientific journals, advise governmental and non-governmental organizations, and interact with the general public.
