Christy Seidel received her Bachelors degree in 2007 and her Masters degree in 2010, both from LSU.  She is currently a 4th year PhD student in the psychology department.  Her areas of interest lie in cognitive psychology and psycholinguistics, but she is also pursuing a minor in industrial-organizational psychology.  She is currently working on a research project with Dr. Emily Elliott on grammaticality judgment and the irrelevant speech effect, as well as a minor project on the role of language in international job assignments with Dr. Russell Matthews.  Her other research interests include language acquisition, bilingualism, and the role of working memory in language processing. Christy works in the lab and is funded by a NIH research assistantship.
