Christy received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders from LSU.  Her MA thesis examined alternative language sample analysis measures for the assessment of low-income African American children.  She is interested in the effect of family-child interactions on language acquisition in culturally and linguistically diverse populations.  She is currently writing up her thesis for publication and working on a project that examines children’s use of copula and auxiliary BE. Christy is a Huel Perkins/SREB fellow.  She is from Baton Rouge, LA.
