Christy received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders from LSU.  Her MA thesis examined alternative language sample analysis measures for the assessment of low-income African American children.  She is interested in child language acquisition, screening, and assessment in linguistically diverse populations.  As a doctoral student, Christy was a Huel Perkins/SREB fellow and is currently funded as research assistant. Christy is working on two projects.  The first project involves developing probes to examine tense and subject-verb agreement in two English dialects. The second is her dissertation, which examines the validity of the DELV screener for linguistically diverse children.  She is from Baton Rouge, LA.
