SC&E Awards: Call for Nominations
The SC&E Awards Committee seeks nominations for the 2013-2014 academic year. Some of the categories for the awards alternate from year to year; faculty awards rotate between “teaching” and “research” and staff awards rotate between “research” and “administrative.” The SC&E awards for the best M.S. thesis and Ph.D. dissertation may be granted every year and recognition of outstanding service by a faculty or staff member is awarded on an ad hoc basis.
This year’s categories are:
Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award
Outstanding Research Staff Award
Outstanding Student Thesis Award
Outstanding Student Dissertation Award
In addition to the recognition of your colleagues, a plaque and a cash award are given to each recipient. The following are the cash award and the required supporting materials for this year’s awards:

This award is limited to tenured or tenure-track faculty in SC&E.

Outstanding Student Dissertation Award: $500

The Awards Committee may consider, if applicable, special nominations for the Faculty/Staff Outstanding Service Award and the Distinguished Faculty Award, which are not annual awards, but are available to recognize extraordinary service or accomplishments.
The SC&E Awards Committee will base the selection of the recipients on their evaluation of the required supporting materials. Nominations, accompanied by all supporting documents, should be submitted to Lily Pham in the SC&E office, 3253 Energy, Coast & Environment Building, no later than March 31 at 4:00 PM. The winners will be recognized and will receive their awards at the SC&E Annual Awards Convocation to be held in the ECE Rotunda Auditorium on May 9, 2014.
Thank you for your role in helping to recognize and reward excellence among the students, staff, and faculty of SC&E.
