*1101 Beginning Mandarin Chinese (5) Persons with prior knowledge of Mandarin may not take this course for credit. Development of speaking and listening skills.

*1102 Beginning Mandarin Chinese (5) Basic lexicon and structure; emphasis on communicative language use.

*2001, *2002 Intermediate Mandarin Chinese (3,3) Prereq.: CHIN 1102; CHIN 2001 is prerequisite for 2002. Continuation of the study of basic lexicon and structures of Chinese; emphasis on further development of speaking, writing, and reading skills.
