Sociology Search (Ref: #007010)
The Department of Sociology invites applications for one or more tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor positions beginning in August, 2008. We seek applicants with specialization in Criminology, Sociology of Deviance, and/or Sociology of Law to enhance our existing strengths in these areas. Exceptional candidates in other specialty areas may also be considered.
Sociology & African and African-American Studies Search (Ref: #010351)
The Department of Sociology invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position beginning in August, 2008. The position will be a joint appointment with African and African-American Studies. While areas of specialization are open, the department seeks to build on its existing strengths in the areas of Criminology, Deviance, and the Sociology of Law. A strong record of publications and/or grants is desirable. The LSU Department of Sociology is one of the oldest in the South and has been awarding doctoral degrees for more than 70 years. It is home to the university’s Crime and Policy Evaluation Research group (CAPER), an interdisciplinary collective of approximately 35 scholars from departments around campus. Screening for the position will begin October 15, 2007 and continue until it is filled.
