What do you do at LSU? I am an Assistant Director in the Office of Orientation. I am responsible for planning the incoming freshmen and transfer student orientation sessions.
What groups or organizations do you advise at LSU? I currently advise the LSU Ambassadors.
How long have you been advising this organization? Since 2000 – 11 years!
How would students get involved in your organization? Each fall the LSU Ambassadors host a number of table sits in Free Speech Plaza and participate in the Student Involvement Fair in order to recruit for the organization. Interested students must attend an information meeting on the organization before applying to be a member. Selections for LSU Ambassadors are only held once per year (each fall). We just selected a class of 68 new Associate Ambassadors!
Does your organization have a website? www.lsuambassadors.com
Do you have any advice for students interested in getting involved on campus? There is a place for everyone at LSU. I discover new activities daily that I had no idea existed on this campus! Make the effort to reach out to others who have similar interests as you, and don’t be afraid to try new things. Now is the time to discover who you are and to become the student leader on this campus that you believe you can be. Please utilize all the resources and support Campus Life offers to help you reach your goals!
