What is your favorite place on campus?
As of right now, my favorite place on campus is visiting Mike’s habitat. There’s something calming about his habitat. Sitting outside and taking in the view of the “wild” versus the everyday “commotion” of life makes me stop and recollect myself.
What is your best college leadership experience?
Serving as the first Latina Director of Students Taking Action Against Racism (S.T.A.A.R.), a student government agency at the University of Florida, was one of my best college leadership experiences. It taught me valuable life lessons and helped me find my passion. I didn’t realize then, how that experience shaped my outlook on my college experience. I worked my way up the ranks as I always have and was able to program and have difficult discussions with students from different cultures, backgrounds, and ethnicities.
