President’s Message |
|
Welcome to the 90th year of the Campus Club of LSU. Campus Club was formed to promote friendships among faculty and faculty spouses through various social events. Over 30 years ago we started the tradition of awarding a scholarship to a child or grandchild of a Campus Club member. This year we are pleased to expand the scholarship program by granting three scholarships. Also, at our December event we collect children’s books which are donated to Earl K. Long Hospital, the LSU Medical facility in Baton Rouge.
Please plan to attend this year’s events where you will have the opportunity to visit with old friends and meet new members. We have scheduled a Fall Welcome Party, a Holiday Tea, Valentine Social, Fashion Show and Luncheon and a Business Meeting and Luncheon. I encourage you also to invite potential members to attend one of our functions and to join the Campus Club.
I also invite you to join one of our smaller, special interest groups. We offer a Bridge Group, Book Club, Travel Group, Lunch Bunch, and Gardening Group. Sign up sheets for these smaller special interest groups will be available at our October event. Another way to become more actively involved with Campus Club is by serving on one of the various support committees—such as Finance, Membership, Scholarship, Yearbook, Scrapbook, or a planning committee for one of our events.
Again, welcome to Campus Club. I look forward to seeing you during the coming academic year!
Sincerely,
Brenda Hutchinson President, Campus Club of LSU, 2009-2010 |
