Houses the Department of Physics and Astronomy. The department brings in nearly $3 million annually in grants and contracts. There is an observatory on top of the building. The department boasts the world's leading gravitational wave research experiment under Dr. William Hamilton. A number of national defense and areospace research contracts under the Louisiana space program have put LSU at the cutting edge of astrophysics technology.
