Recognition
for LSU Historians' teaching, research work
The members of Phi
Alpha Theta, the history honor society, chose
Prof. Stanley Hilton as
the recipient of the 2008 Roselyn Boneno Teaching Award.
The Department congratulates
Prof. Margherita Zanasi on her appointment for a fellowship at the
Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, NJ during Fall 2007. Prof. Zanasi will use the time to work on her
next book, whose working title is From Empire to Nation: Chinese Economic Thought in Transition.
Most recently, Prof. Zanasi was also awarded a Fulbright Fellowship, which
will enable her to complete her year of research in Spring 2008 working on
historical records in Shanghai.
The department's Prof. Meredith Veldman
was LSU's senior nominee for a National Endowment for the
Humanities summer grant: the third year in a row that honor has gone to a member
of the History Department.
Prof.
Mark L. Thompson was selected to receive a prestigious fellowship for study at the John Carter Brown Library
in Providence, Rhode Island, during the Fall 2007 semester.
