Transfer Credit Evaluation

Please note that not every transfer course without a direct LSU equivalent should be evaluated. We typically recommend that you have coursework evaluated that will assist you in making progress toward your degree. If you have a course counting toward your elective requirement that will remain in your elective requirement regardless of whether or not it has an LSU match, we would not recommend that you have that specific course evaluated.

During the senior college meeting at Transfer Student Orientation, we will provide you with an updated copy of your “Evaluation of Transfer Credit” and a copy of a degree audit (a document indicating which courses you have counting toward your degree and which courses you still must complete) for your major and concentration on file with the University. We will highlight the courses on the “Evaluation of Transfer Credit” that we recommend that you have further evaluated by a faculty advisor.

We recommend that you have any needed transfer coursework evaluated at Transfer Student Orientation. At orientation, we have all of the college’s faculty advisors available in a specific location for you during the morning session. In the afternoon, there is a general session for students to attend where faculty advisors from all colleges are available for course evaluations. Outside of Transfer Student Orientation, faculty advisors are available in their respective offices during allotted office hours.
