Curriculum Vitae

Education

Ph.D., University of Kentucky - 1977

Areas of Specialization/Research

The nematology program has responsibility for evaluating the influence of plant parasitic nematodes on agriculturally important plant species. Ongoing projects include the monitoring of species and races of nematodes associated primarily with cotton, soybean, sugarcane, rice and vegetables; evaluation of the impacts of pest complexes on soybean and cotton; and screening of promising new methods of nematode management.

Teaching Experience

Nematology annually and Introductory Plant Pathology Semi-annually. Over the years, Ed McGawley has also taught Integrated Pest Management, and Honors Biology at LSU. He also guest lectures in Invertebrate Zoology at LSU and Southeastern Louisiana University and in Plant Disease Management and Control at LSU.
