Apparel design students help 4-H'ers reach the runway

Camille Marcel and Kayla Sherman, both students majoring in textiles, apparel design and merchandising, shared their knowledge with youth on the 4-H Fashion Board at a 4-H University Clover College event on LSU's campus June 21-22. Marcel and Sherman took the 4-H members to Forever 21 at the Mall of Louisiana to show them different styles of apparel and the best fit for certain body types. After their field trip, the group came back to campus to create a mood board and learn about careers in fashion. 4-H'ers were provided t-shirts and materials to design a unique look using the information they learned. The finished designs were presented in a Project Runway-style fashion show the following day.
