Important Dates

  • December 1 - application deadline for Spring Term
    (October 1 for international applicants who have international credentials)
  • April 15 - application deadline for Summer Term
  • April 15 - application deadline for Fall Term
  • November 15 - deadline to apply to Honors College. You may apply to Honors College on the Undergraduate Application. If you do not select the Honors College option when you submit your original application, you may submit a supplemental Honors College application.
  • November 15 - priority date for full consideration for LSU scholarship programs

Important Information for Completing the Application

Admissions Account

  • You will be required to create an account with a valid, unique email address.
  • A $40 nonrefundable application fee is due upon submission of your application, payable via Visa, MasterCard, or bank draft. A $15 late fee will be added to any application accepted after the deadline. Once the application fee has been authorized no other changes can be made to your application.

Scholarships / Financial Aid

  • The Application for Undergraduate Admissions serves as the application for all scholarships available at LSU.
  • Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit and financial need. You will have the opportunity to provide information regarding extracurricular activities, work experience, and honors/awards received. This information will be used for scholarship evaluation.
  • The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the application for all institutional, state, and federal need-based financial aid, including federal grants, loans, and work study as well as state programs such as TOPS and the Louisiana Go Grant.

Additional Information

Writing Assessments for ACT and/or SAT required

Applicants for first-year admission to LSU will be required to submit the writing assessment portion of the SAT or ACT. For more information on the writing assessments, visit the College Board (SAT) and/or ACT Web sites.

Housing Notice

For students planning to attend LSU, you must have applied for admission prior to submitting a housing application.

Pre-Law, Pre-Med, and Pre-Dentistry

LSU does not offer degrees in Pre-Law, Pre-Med, or Pre-Dentistry. Students interested in Law School, Medical School, or Dental School are advised to graduate with a degree in a related field, but not limit themselves to a Pre-Law, Pre-Med, or Pre-Dentistry degree.
