Calling All LSU Students! TEDxLSU and the Office of Research and Economic Development Present: an evening with Dr. Sara Ruane at the Museum of Natural Science

Curiosity, Confidence, and Persistence: What it takes to be successful as a college student...and in life

Dr. Sara Ruane is probably one of the coolest people we’ve met recently and she’s really into snakes. So much so that she has a tattoo in honor of her passion for researching reptiles! But whether you like snakes or not, you’ll love Sara because she’s talking with us about how to find our curiosity, muster confidence, and carry on with persistence to pursue success as students and after graduation.

Sara hails from the Northeast, completed her doctorate at CUNY, worked for the American Museum of Natural History, discovered a new snake species while in Madagascar, is currently a post-doc researcher here at LSU, and will begin her tenure-track career at Rutgers in January. Oh, and did we mention she’s only 34 years old?
Seating is limited and this is a can’t-miss event brought to you by the organizers of TEDxLSU and LSU Science Cafe, so sign up to attend today!
