Welcome to the African and African American
Studies web site at Louisiana State
University.
Here you will find information about our faculty,
programs of study,
course offerings and programming. AAAS at LSU has undergone some dramatic
changes in the past few years, and we anticipate more growth and progress in our
goal to be THE center for the study of African and African diaspora peoples in
Louisiana and the South. AAAS boasts a diverse and active faculty who teach,
conduct research, and publish in the areas of African, African American and
Caribbean culture, history, literature politics, and religion. As well, you can
get information about changes within the Program and announcements of events and
activities related to African and African American Studies on campus and in the
community.
